it is just used for communicating with those people who can't understand language. the next level is complexity and universality is spoken language which means most people can speak one language, and some two are more.  At third is the highest complexity in written language Most people can't speak but can write in modern times and have typewriters. Significantly fewer people type than write. Spoken language is still more efficient than typing, the same as the typing skill level.
Through its first few decades, a computer’s ability to deal with human communication was inversely related to what was easy for people to do. The computer demanded rigid, typed input through a keyboard; people responded slowly using this device and with varying degrees of skill. The human-computer dialog reflected the computer’s preferences, consisting of one style or a combination of styles using keyboards, commonly referred to as Command Language, Question and Answer, Menu Selection, Function Key Selection, and Form Fill-In. Throughout the computer’s history, designers have been developing, with varying degrees of success, other human-computer interaction methods that utilize more general, widespread, and easier-to-learn capabilities: voice and handwriting. Systems that recognize human speech and handwriting.

Types of user interface

1. GUI (Graphical User Interface)- GUI is a system of interactive visual components for computer software. A GUI displays objects that convey information and represent actions that the user can take. The objects change color, size, or visibility when the user interacts with them. It was created by Xerox PARC by Alan Kay, and Douglas Engelbart in 1981. after that, Apple introduced the Lisa computer in 1983.

2. MDI (Menu Drive interface)- It is a type of user interface where users interact with a program or system through a series of menus. These menus present options or commands that the user can select, typically through the use of a pointer, keyboard, or touchscreen, simplifying the interaction with the system. Eg. ATM

3. FBI (Form-Based Interface)-  A form-based interface uses text boxes, dropdown menus, text areas, check boxes, radio boxes, and buttons to create an electronic form that a user completes to enter data into a system. This is commonly used on websites to gather data from a user, or in call centers to allow operators to quickly enter information gathered over the phone.

4. VUI (Voice user interface)- A voice user interface is a natural language interface.  It means a kind of spoken interface where the user interacts with the computer by talking to it. An Example of this type of interface is Voice Recognition. This is the kind of interface used by the popular iPhone application called Siri and Cortana in Windows.

5. CLI (Command Line Interface)- Command line interfaces are the oldest of the interfaces. It involves the computer responding to commands typed by the operator. This type of interface has the drawback that it requires the operator to remember a range of different commands.

Here are some tips for user interface design
1. know your user- Above all else, you have to know who your users are—inside and out. That means knowing all the demographic data your analytics app can pull, yes. But more importantly, it means knowing what they need, and what stands in the way of them achieving their goals. Getting to that level of empathy requires more than careful analysis of stats. It requires getting to know about people who visit your website. It helps to know about their goals.

2. know how people use your interface- People use websites and apps in two ways-
A. directly (by interacting with the interface elements of the product)
eg. tapping a button, swiping a card, dragging and dropping items with a fingertips
B. indirectly (by interacting with UI elements external to the product).
eg. pointing and clicking using command key or shortcut keys.

3. Expectations- Many apps and sites have interaction with consequences if a user clicks on how to buy estate property in a specific area or location and then next something highlighted on the relevance button such as buy property in Haryana at a budget price or know about property dealer of the specific property. then the user can click according to their wish. some setting expectation designs must follow
A. Highlighting the button that corresponds to the desired action
B. Using a widely understood symbol (such as a trash can for a delete button, a plus sign to add something, or a magnifying glass for search) in combination with the copy.
C. Picking a color with a relevant meaning green for a “go” button, red for “stop”.

4. Anticipate mistakes- People make mistakes, but they should not always have to suffer the consequences. we see a lot of mistake-prevention techniques in e-commerce and form design. Buttons remain inactive until we fill out all fields. Forms detect that an email address has not been entered properly. Pop-ups ask you if you want to proceed with your shopping cart and we click on Yes I do, in Amazon Flipkart, or Myntra e-commerce and form-filling sites.

5. Give Feedback- In the real world, the environment gives us feedback. Same as it is we speak and others respond some do and some don't. Like if we press the button (laptop, mobile) and the device most of the time they respond, and very rare chance they don't respond due to power or hardware issues.
So we need to load an animation-like pop-up floating on the window screen.
We need to put data like Give me a virtual high-five when I do something you and I agree is awesome.
